The Orthodox Stewards for Justice and Reconciliation (OSJR for short) is a self-organized group of parishioners and friends of St. Athanasius the Great, Arlington MA.
OSJR is not a ministry of the St. Athanasius parish. We formed OSJR to refocus the efforts of our parish on a path to reconciliation and continued Christian growth.
Metropolitan Methodios has followed a number of actions that are fundamentally antithetical to principles of Christian love, compassion, justice and reconciliation, as well as Uniform Parish Regulations. He has persecuted a faithful and beloved priest and decimated the once thriving community of St. Athanasius in Arlington, MA.
OSJR stewards have championed the reversal of Methodios 's decisions by offering moral support to Fr. Nick and his family, and fundraising through CommunityInUnity events and donors. Archbishop of America Elpidophoros reversed the illegal decisions of the Boston Metropolitan and fully reinstated Fr. Kastanas in April of 2021
We are long time active stewards and friends of the community that were involved with parish development, education, administration, maintenance, community relationships, communications and finances.
We have decided that as MLK proclaimed 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere' and so we have taken a stand against the unjust actions of our own Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Boston, until it is able to demonstrate to its faithful the true ethos of Orthodox Christianity.
Sign up if you endorse our cause of justice and reconciliation. This will allow us to send you timely updates of our ongoing actions.
